Best Beauty Discoveries of 2015

Hey beauties! I know I’m a smidgen late to the game with this one, and I’ve been debating weather or not to even make it a post, but I’m throwing caution to the wind. Today I bring you a compilation of what I consider, my best beauty discoveries of last year! I didn’t want to call this a yearly favorites because I don’t have one product from every category that I keep repurchasing (*cough* foundation).

Alrighty, before I start rambling too much let’s jump into it, in no particular order!

Essence I Heart Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara

Coming from a person who suffers with having chronically straight, sparse, and uncurlable lashes, you can trust me when I say: This mascara is ammmmazing!!! It somehow gives me volume, length and makes my lashes look dramatically fluffy. I love this mascara more than anything else I’ve ever tried, EVER. On top of giving amazing results the wand is also really easy to work with, which I think is hard to find these days. It is, in my opinion, a better version of Tarte Lights, Cameras, Flashes. You can find this mascara at Ulta for $5.

Mac Paint Pot in Painterly

For the longest time I was in love with Urban Decay Primer Potion for priming my eyelids when one day it stopped working suddenly. It took me months, and nothing I tried was working, my lids were just too oily. Then I decided to take the plunge and get my very first Mac product, Painterly! It has been a complete game changer. My shadows apply more smoothly, look much more vibrant and wear longer than ever. If you’ve been debating it, don’t even give it another thought. You need this.

Nyx Eyebrow Gel in Brunette

This past year has been the year of eyebrows for me and I think a lot of others, too. I went from using Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tough as Taupe for my brows, which worked well but dried out SO fast. Then I used Nars eye shadow in Bali, but I was terrified of hitting pan because that’s some pricey shit. Then on a whim I tried this and it is phenomenal! They have a great color selection, it is easy to work with and it stays put ALL day. My only suggestion is when you use it is, deposit it onto a palette or your plastic/metal/glass object of choice rather than your hand because once it sets it does not come off the back of your hand. Available HERE, and keep an eye out for their frequent BOGO 1/2 off sales!

NYC New York Color Liquid Eyeliner

I struggle with super watery eyes, which makes finding an eyeliner that doesn’t smear, run or just disappear on me very hard to find. This stuff is super cheap, super mega black, dries matte & stays perfect all day long! Its kind of hard to find in stores now but it’s still available here at the time of this post.

Nyx High-Definition Blush in Taupe

This is definitely not a blush, but it does make a perfect contouring powder! It is smooth, easily blendable and is the perfect shade for mimicking a shadow. It’s obviously gotten some major love from me, and has quickly become a product I cannot live without. You can get yours and your backups HERE.

Too Faced Chocolate Soliel Bronzer

This is the “deluxe size” sample I have of it, but it’s pretty damn big (only a touch less product than the full size Nyx blush!). This bronzer makes my face look warm and airbrushed, it also helps my contour look more naturally blended into my skin tone. Plus, it smells like chocolate!!! Get the full-size one HERE.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Fanciful

This blush provides a very natural looking, youthful flush and lasts all. day. on my skin, which no other blush ever has! Sadly, this particular color was exclusive to a Sephora Black Friday set; However they have 15 other shades to choose from! I know Exposed is a cult favorite and Tipsy also looks stunning. Available HERE.

Becca Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal

I think that this product was the universes’ favorite this past year, everyone and their mother is obsessed with it. This makes my cheekbones glow so bright they can be seen from space, and I love it! Not the type of product for someone who likes a subtle, natural glow, this is for hardcore highlighting. It’s buttery, smooth and just melts into the skin. If you don’t already have it and like a good highlighter, you NEED it, go get you some!

The Swatches…

I decided to only include the basic things I use every single day and absolutely love! So there you have it beauties, I hope you all enjoyed. What were some of your best finds in 2015? What releases are you most excited for in 2016?
